NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING (NDT)
Non-Destructive Testing assesses material properties and detects flaws without causing damage to the tested component. Unlike destructive testing, NDT preserves the integrity of the item under examination — making it a cost-effective and essential technique for quality assurance, in-service inspection, and regulatory compliance.
ASR Metallurgy provides comprehensive NDT services for both onshore and offshore projects, supporting sectors including steel manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, pipelines, fertiliser plants, refineries, and fabrication workshops.
1. Radiography Testing (RT)
Test Methods: ISO 17636 Part 1, IS 1182, IS 4853, IS 2595, ASME SEC V Article II, ASTM E1030, ASTM E1032, ASTM E94
Equipment: Ir-192 Gamma Ray Sources (04 units) | X-Ray 250 kV (06 units) | X-Ray 300 kV (02 units)
Uses X-rays or gamma rays to produce radiographic images of a component's internal structure. Detects volumetric defects such as porosity, slag inclusions, lack of fusion, and cracks in welds, castings, and forgings.
