ASNT 9712 is a centralised, independent personnel certification programme administered by the American Society for Nondestructive Testing. It is designed to evaluate and certify NDT practitioners through rigorous, standardised examinations — independent of any single employer.
Unlike employer-based Written Practice certifications (governed under SNT-TC-1A), which are tied to the issuing company and lose validity when you change jobs, ASNT 9712 certification belongs to the individual. Once earned, your credentials are recognised worldwide and remain valid across employers, industries, and borders.
The programme is aligned with internationally recognised standards including ANSI/ASNT CP-9712, ISO 9712:2021, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, and ASNT CP-189.
